Creative Mornings Los Angeles: Andrew Gibbs

We walked into the Ford & Ching showroom for our very first Creative Mornings session surrounded by creative locals, doughnuts and coffee. We knew the one hour drive from Orange County to Chinatown was worth making. We drove to see Andrew Gibbs, founder of The Dieline. After years of following The Dieline since its launch in 2007, we jumped at the opportunity to hear Andrew speak.

Andrew, an alumni of the Orange County Art Institute, spoke about his career path, key people that mentored him along the way, and the importance of a passionate persistence in everything you do as a creative. Andrew truly inspired the group of 100 or so creatives.

As for the future of packaging, Gibbs sees the direction heading into an eco-chic direction featuring environmentally friendly packaging.

About Creative Mornings

Creative Mornings is a monthly gathering that features various creative guest speakers.

We highly recommend attending a Creative Mornings event. It is a monthly gathering that features various creative guest speakers from all over the industry. Creative Mornings was started by Tina Roth Eisenberg of Swiss Miss a couple of years ago in New York. Since then, the lecture series has branched out to Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Zurich.

The event is free, and features a 20 minute lecture, followed by a 20 minute Q&A session. Past speakers include Zach Frechette of GOOD Magazine. Next month’s Creative Mornings LA features Nathan Strandberg and Katie Kirk, the husband and wife design firm of EightHourDay.

You can learn more about Creative Mornings and view videos of past speakers online at Creative Mornings.
